Great results…but still foolish

Posted on: Thursday, June 15th, 2006 in: Editorial

The lottery is pretty much a tax for people who can’t do math. While some people can win out, many do not. In fact, the odds of winning any large substantial cash is so low, that you would have better odds giving me your money than giving it to the state.

If your a starving student like this guy was, you should probably use the $1 to buy milk, not a lottery ticket. Although he won, he could have easily lost and wouldn’t have any milk in the process.

comments?

I’ve opened up comments on this blog entry. I’m wondering how many people would be interested if I opened up comments on my blog.

I initially turned them off by default because there was no way to screen them. However, I think the at this point, I’d like to give people a chance to respond. The rules would be the same as my livejournal blog:

  • All comments must be signed!!! Any unsigned entries will get deleted.
  • Absolutely no profanity.
  • Comments cannot go off-topic.

Let me know what you guys think
